‘Still : Until’ (2021)

Royal Yellow is an electronic music project that I created in 2008. ‘Still : Until’ is a 23-minute, 2-sided concept E.P; created with support from The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

The record is available through Bandcamp on frosted clear vinyl (limited edition of 250).

Concept

Making this record involved a constant shifting between two oppositional states; a state of mindfulness and a state of restlessness.

‘Still’ reflects the necessity to slow down, breathe and reflect. To lean in to difficult questions; to embrace uncertainty.

Conversely, the record’s flip-side ‘Until’ reflects a desire to dance, run, and physcially thrash one’s body around. This sprawling 11+ minute track evidences a need to work through an oppressive impatience, and the frustration of feeling stuck in frozen time.
