Sergei
Sergei is a group artwork which takes the form of an immersive, multi-screen installation. It is a single participant, immersive work running at 5 and a half minutes. Sergei is experienced whilst lying on the floor of a darkened studio.
The artwork is a response to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C# Minor, an ominous, violent piano piece inspired by a dream in which Rachmaninoff saw himself being buried alive.
The work was exhibited for a period of two weeks in the Computer Science Building at The University of Limerick, where it was experienced by students, faculty and visitors.
